Rob Hitchock, Community Liaison/Advocacy/Advisory Committee

Rob Hitchcock is a Business Development Manager for AVACOS Clean Energy Corp. He works with a wide range of clientele, providing energy generation and management solutions. His focus is in PV solar development and advancing the growth of LED lighting in commercial and institutional settings.
Rob also provides project management services for PV projects in Africa, and directs applied research projects at St. Lawrence College's Sustainable Energy and Research Centre as an industry partner.
Prior to his current position, Rob managed Iogen's QA lab, which qualified the world's first commercially available cellulosic ethanol to be used as vehicle fuel; at Nortel Network's Optical Division, he managed supply and manufacturing activities for wave guide, detector, and laser production. Portions of his career have also been spent with Shell and Imperial Oil research centers, and the Ministry of the Environment.
Rob received his BSc degree from the University of Waterloo, Chemical Engineering diploma from Mohawk College, and certification in Sustainable Building Design and Construction from Fleming College, and an Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies certificate from Stanford University.
